NSV: The Tiniest Zip Line in Texas

This weekend, at a cajun festival in a little town in Texas, I rode a zip line. It was a tiny zip line over a bounce house, just like this:

But I would not have done that 65 pounds ago. And that was the whole point of getting lap band surgery. I was tired of my weight preventing me from doing things I wanted to do. I don't want to exceed the weight limit anymore. (I made my mother-in-law go check and see what the limit was before I even made up my mind. It was 240.) I don't want my size, or even just fear of being fat in public, to keep me from doing anything. Even ridiculous stuff like a bounce house zip line. Next time, I'll make sure they take pictures!

  1. Congrats on conquering your fear and zip lining! Hey, a zip line is a zip line no matter have small!

I did it about two years ago. I was scared shitless. lol

I made sure to be last in line so I could watch everyone and get pointers! Imagine my horror when the instructor said, "everyone turn around and face the opposite direction". I was now second to go. I thought I would die. I kid you not I was freaking out inside.

I spare you the rest of the story. But I did it and I am so glad I did.

I like the thought of doing it again but then again I don't. lol

    Good for you.

  2. Had to laugh when I read this post. One of the things on my bucket list is to do a zipline. The weight limit at the one I want to do is 220lb, so I can do it now. I will be doing it this summer!

    1. Me too, Jenn! The camera battery died right before I went. Of course that only happens the one time I left my phone in the car.
