Friday Weigh-In

Starting weight: 281 lbs
Surgery day: 261 lbs

Today's weight: 206

- .6 lb loss

-55 lbs loss since surgery
-75 lb loss overall

I actually saw 206 on the scale last Saturday morning, but after that, it was all bad news from there. So I'm actually relieved to be recording any kind of loss rather than a gain today. This week was crazy hectic and stressful and I forgot to bring my breakfast twice. Yesterday, I ate two pop tarts for breakfast, which I hadn't had in years. They weren't even good, but it actually seemed like the least awful choice in the office vending machine. Considering they have this option, I figured I could have done worse:

And it smells AMAZING when people heat it in the microwave.
I also had far too much salt this week. Chips and queso, why can't I quit you? Just hoping I'm not too behind on my mini-goal of Onederland by June.

I'm enjoying my new Fitbit, although it wants me to walk 10,000 steps a day, and I average about 5,000 steps a day. Not sure how I can manage more steps in my day, unless I quit my desk job to be a stay-at-home mom (which would be AWESOME). Because all my activity spikes are when I'm home. Lots more moving when there's laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc. to do.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! Happy Mother's Day, moms!

  1. AGH, they have those cinnamon rolls in our vending machine too...and cheese danish, and honey buns and all manner of sticky delicious breakfast pastries. I forgot my breakfast this morning too, but I got some teriyaki beef jerky from the machine. Not really breakfast food but 10g of protein and 70 calories...I could do worse :)

Glad you like your fitbit! Don't worry, I've only reached the 10,000 steps/day goal 2 or 3 times in the 3ish weeks that I've had mine. But I like that it drives me to move more, because I don't want to look at it when I'm getting ready for bed and see that I didn't walk much that day. I just find lots of reasons to get up from my desk during the day...and when I go to the bathroom, I purposely go to the one allll the way at the other end of the building. Stuff like that.

75 pounds!!! That is a beautiful number. I see onederland in your future soon! I hope you get there by the time June rolls around but if not, don't be too hard on yourself--you'll get there! You're doing great :-D

    1. Beef jerky is a good choice! I'm too scared of getting stuck on jerky these days. Pastries, why do you torture us?

I figure worst case, our Disney World trip should get me up to 10,000 steps.

    1. I got mine as an early Mother's Day present to myself. I'm confident we deserve these things!

  3. My lunch today ended up being chips/salsa from chilis--and half of a paradise pie dessert. our entrees got screwed up and we ran out of time on our lunch break...so we picked the most important food groups--salt and dessert! :) wait, I shouldn't be smiling for that--it was BAD BAD BAD of me (and for me).

  5. I'm like Mon - I almost never hit 10,000 on a normal day, but it makes me park farther away from things and choose longer routes, run up and down the stairs more, etc.

    CONGRATULATIONS on 75 pounds!!! Amazing!!!!!
